Donald Hugh Clark, 93, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at his home in Corvallis. Donald was born to All Bert and Lula Belle Clark in Meridian, Idaho. The family moved to Modesto, Calif., where Donald graduated from Modesto High School. While attending a typing class at Modesto Junior College, he met the love of his life, Grace Simidian. After his enlistment in the U.S. Army, they were married in July 1941. He worked as a photographer, carpenter and furniture refinisher in the Rogue Valley, building his own home in Eagle Point. He moved to Corvallis in 2003 after the death of his wife. His lifelong passion has been artwork, oil and watercolor painting in particular. Throughout his life he produced many beautiful paintings, including some during his last year of life. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dale Clark (World War II); his sister, June May; and his wife, Grace Clark. He is survived by sons, Donald (Marilyn), Robert (Kathy) and Harold (Cathy); 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. At Donald’s request, there will be no service. Inurnment will take place at the Eagle Point National Veterans Cemetery. Donations can be made to Benton Hospice Service.
