Harold "Bud" Heeter

Harold Richard “Bud” Heeter of South Beach died at home Thursday, Feb. 28, after a two year valiant battle against Multiple Myeloma. He was 79 years old. Born March 20, 1928, in Wolf Point, Mont., to Clorine J. and Maud Helvey Heeter, he was the last of eleven children. He and was proceeded in death by his parents and 10 brothers and sisters. He moved with his family to Brownsville in 1932 where he graduated from Brownsville High School in 1947. He married Lois Pauline Baysinger of Des Moines, Iowa, on Sept. 19, 1947, in Brownsville. He was a resident of Corvallis from 1955 to 1990, retiring in 1990 from American Hardware Mutual Insurance after 37 years as a fieldman. He moved to South Beach in 1990, where he was actively involved in the Oregon Beach Clean Up, the Homeowners Association at Pacific Shores and was a member of the Agate Beach Golf Course. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, golfing and family. He was a dedicated family man, leaving behind his wife of 60 years, Lois Heeter, and five children, Joan Heeter of Portland and her partner Ruth Abel of England, Richard Heeter of Corvallis, Robin Heeter Sether of Corvallis, David and Kristin Heeter of Woodinville, Wash., and Harry and Heather Reich of Corvallis. He had 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be at a later date.
