Ma la Paz Magaña

Ma de la Paz , 43, of Tangent died of cancer at her home. She was born in a rural community in Mexico to Esteban Magaña Zepeda and Virginia Alvarez Aguirre. She studied tourism at Centro de Estudios Universitarios Veracruz de Guadalajara, Mexico. Her career took her from owning her travel agency to working at Teel's Travel Planners to owning a cake-decorating business. She married Rivelino Diaz in Corvallis, and had two wonderful children. She was an author, poet and composer, and enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with her extended family. Her nieces and nephews considered her the all-time favorite aunty. Survivors include her husband, Rivelino Diaz; sons Steven Fernando and Paul Rivelino Diaz Magaña; brothers German, Esteban, Daniel, Ambrocio, Mario, Gumaro and Armando; and sisters Matilde, Lilia, Rosa and Virginia. A service was held Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Ignacio Llorente officiated. Interment took place at Oaklawn Memorial Cemetery.
