May 11,1915 - Oct. 21, 2009 Nellie Marie Rohner Weaver, 94, of Summit died Wednesday at Corvallis Manor. She was born in Wells, a small community once located east of Coffin Butte in northern Benton County, where she attended school. She married Ralph Weaver of Dallas on June 8, 1935, in Bend. In their first years, they lived and worked on the Rohner family farm until 1949, when they moved to Summit. Nellie lived at Summit for 59 years. In 2008, she moved from the Summit Tree Farm, which she owned with two sons, to live with her son Dan in Independence. She was a homemaker, and drove a school bus for 13 years. She enjoyed working on the tree farm and in her gardens, a real joy to her, and kept a large garden until her last year. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She attended the Blodgett Community Church and monthly Widow's Luncheon. Survivors include her sons, Wayne Weaver of Summit and Dan Weaver of Independence; brother, Edwin Rohner of Corvallis; grandchildren, Duane Weaver, Addie Faxon and Lisa Ward; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; a brother; and three sisters. At her request, there will be no public service, but a memorial service for immediate family will be held later.
