Samuel Rudolph Vasconi
April 10, 1935 - May 6, 2014
Samuel R. Vasconi April 10, 1935 — May 6, 2014 Samuel R. Vasconi of Corvallis unexpectedly passed away on May 6, 2014. Born April 10, 1935, in Seattle, Washington, he moved to Alaska with his bride, Ardie Coulter, in 1959 and started a family. After Ardie died in a car accident, in 1969 Sam married Ann Davenport. Sam worked as a buyer, ending his long career as a partner in the food distribution business. After raising their family, Sam and Ann retired to Corvallis in 1984. Not one to stay still, Sam started building and selling furniture and toys. Among many things, Sam took pride in three homes he built in Alaska, and later a home in Corvallis. Sam’s teasing nature, caring ways and good heart will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Sam was preceded in death by Ardie (Coulter) Vasconi and his parents. He is survived by Ann, his wife of 45 years; his daughters and their spouses, Lisa and Todd Clark, and Sandra and Patrick Morin; his granddaughters, Kathryn Morin, Sarah Clark and Makayla Clark; brother, John Vasconi; and many other relatives and friends. At his request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Benton Hospice Service, 2350 N.W. Professional Drive, Corvallis, OR 97330.
