Walter I. Anderson

Walter Ingman Anderson April 3, 1919- August 11, 2014 Walter, son of William Anderson and Ingeborg (Isabel) Stromstad Anderson was born on his grandfather’s homestead in Wild Rice, N. Dakota on April 3, 1919. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church which was also on his grandparent’s homestead. He had a dairy herd in late 1930’s and early 1940’s. Walter married Irene Hultberg in 1939 which ended 24 years later. Walter moved to Corvallis in December 1949 with his wife and four children and started painting and carpentry for a livelihood which led to becoming a building contractor. He built many homes in Corvallis. Walter and Jeanne Youngkin were married in 1965. Walter retired in 1977 and spent many years in Arizona where he continued building and enjoyed traveling and lots of golfing. Walter is now living with Jesus forever. Praise the Lord. Walter is survived by his wife, Jeanne, sons, Wayne (Helen ) of Albany, Delmer (Kathie) of Corvallis; daughters, Patricia Sparks (Ben ) of Salem, Loretta Reith of Independence; stepson, Tim Youngkin (Carol) of Salem; step-daughter, Victoria Lowe of Forest Grove; and numerous grand, great and great great grandchildren. Services for Walter will be 2:00 pm, Monday, August 18 at Zion Lutheran Church, 2745 NW Harrison, Corvallis.
